While trying to uncover the truth behind the mysterious messages about her past, Scully has been beset by nightmares and visions, causing her to flip her car; luckily she is pulled from the wreckage by a passing caravan driver, who seems to know who she is... Mulder takes his concerns to Assistant Director Skinner at FBI Headquarters, explaining that Scully’s gifted copy of ‘Moby Dick’ contains a clue to a disgraced FBI operative named Marvin Kells, who lives in a trailer park in Southern Pennsylvania; Mulder believes that while working as a private investigator Kells uncovered details of Scully’s past, and is now terrorising her. Learning that Scully’s abandoned car has been found by the Pennsylvania police, Mulder takes an armed team to rescue her; they soon locate the missing agent, having overpowered in Kells in his caravan. Interrogating Kells at the local police station, Scully, Mulder and Skinner are struck by his intimate knowledge of Scully’s past – secrets only she and her late father could have known…
