Buffy

As police and paramedics swarm around the Summer’s house Faith is brought out on a stretcher, still unconscious. A detective thanks Buffy for immobilising her, but when he calls Faith a kid Buffy begin defending her - it is obvious that Faith now inhabits Buffy’s body, and Buffy, Faith’s. Joyce cannot understand why her daughter is acting coldly towards her; ‘Buffy’ takes a bath, and then spends some time in front of the mirror practising the things that Buffy would say. ‘Faith’ wakes up in hospital, but when she tries to leave to save her mother she is knocked-out with sedatives and restrained to the bed. In Tara’s room, she and Willow discuss their relationship, Willow explaining that the only reason she has not introduced Tara to her friends is that she likes having Tara all to herself; Tara shyly assures Willow that she is hers. After dressing in a slutty, Faith-like way, ‘Buffy’ finds Buffy’s passport; she also takes Joyce’s credit cards and books a flight to leave at 10 am the next morning; Joyce tells her that Giles and the others are waiting for her at Giles’ place. ‘Faith’ wakes up in a police car, but it is rammed by an armoured truck and the policemen knocked unconscious; the three men that spoke to Giles’ jump out of the truck and drag ‘Faith’ from the police car, declaring that she is under arrest in the name of the Watcher’s Council. ‘Buffy’ arrives at Giles’ and finds all of her friends waiting for her; Giles informs her that ‘Faith’ is to be taken by a Council Retrieval Team to England. That evening, ‘Buffy’ is dancing at ‘The Bronze’ when she runs into Spike; she confuses him by saying she could do things to him he never imagined, titillating him. Elsewhere, a group of vampires return to their nest only to find Adam waiting for them; he easily decapitates one of them, and tells the remaining four that he has plans to unite all vampires. Meanwhile, ‘Faith’ attempts to convince the Watchers that she is really Buffy, but they just mock her, the leader spitting in her face before closing the doors to her prison in the back of the van. When Willow and Tara arrive at ‘The Bronze’, Willow introduces Tara to ‘Buffy’; when she then leaves to get a drink, ‘Buffy’ immediately spots there is more than friendship between the two witches, and her comments make Tara extremely uncomfortable. Willow returns, pointing out a vampire to ‘Buffy’; ‘the Slayer’ follows the vampire and his victim outside and slays the creature in the parking lot. She then returns inside, and Willow tells her she is taking Tara home as she does not feel well; she mentions Riley, which plants an idea in ‘Buffy’s head. Meanwhile, ‘Faith’ takes one of her captor’s hostage, but the leader tells her they come prepared, and are all willing to die. Defeated, ‘Faith’ throws the hostage out of the van. Tara tells Willow that the energy ‘Buffy’ gave off was fragmented; her behaviour makes them feel that she was not her normal self, and so they decide to perform a spell to enable them to visit Buffy’s body on the astral plane, to investigate her inner self. ‘Buffy’ visits Riley and shocks him by telling him he can do whatever he wants to her body, but he chooses to kiss her romantically. Tara and Willow begin their spell. As Riley and ‘Buffy’ finish making love, Riley tells ‘Buffy’ that he loves her; stunned, she pushes him away, asking what he wants of her. Riley lovingly embraces her, although he is confused by what she has said. Elsewhere, Adam lectures his vampire recruits, commanding them to spread the word of his impending attack on humanity. The next morning, ‘Buffy’ leaves the sleeping Riley, only to be confronted by Forrest out in the hallway. He accuses her of being a killer, which disturbs ‘Buffy’; she remarks that this is what the Slayer does, and then walking out. Meanwhile, ‘Faith’ grabs a tranquilliser gun from one of the Watchers and knocks him unconscious; she manages to reach the driver’s side of the truck and makes her escape. While ‘Buffy’ arrives at the airport for her flight, ‘Faith’ arrives at Giles’ house, and tries to persuade him that she is really Buffy; she begins listing things that only the two of them know, such as Giles and her mother once having sex. Willow and Tara arrive - the spell worked and they know it is Faith that is in Buffy’s body, and have conjured a Katra that will enable the two Slayers to switch bodies. Xander calls and tells then to turn on the television; they see a newsflash concerning a group of worshippers that are being held hostage in a church by ‘disfigured’ men. At the airport, ‘Buffy’ sees the same story. Inside the church, the vampires that Adam was lecturing are tormenting their hostages; outside, Riley has taken control of the situation; he sees ‘Buffy’ as he approaches the church, but is unable to stop her from entering. Once inside, she slays three of the vampires, but their leader pins her down. ‘Faith’ arrives and stakes him from behind, and the two Slayers then begin a desperate fight. ‘Faith’ is able to use the Katra to switch them back to their rightful bodies, but Faith is able to escape. Later, at Riley’s, Buffy receives a phone call: both Faith and the Watcher team have disappeared; Riley is confused by everything that has happened, and Buffy’s only explanation is that it was magic. Buffy realises that he slept with Faith while she was in her body; obviously disturbed by this development, she is certain that Faith is not coming back. Meanwhile, Faith sits in a boxcar of a train leaving Sunnydale…
