Mortally wounded by Toru, Renee dies in the arms of a shocked Xander, while all around them chaos breaks out as the Japanese vampires attack Buffy and her Slayers. Willow takes on Kumiko, but finds the oriental witch to be more than a match, and is only just saved in the nick of time by a skydiving, stake-wielding Buffy. Meanwhile, giant Dawn finds herself facing a giant ‘Mecha Dawn’ in a battle of epic – and somewhat appropriate – proportions amongst the skyscrapers of Tokyo. Seeing Xander’s anguish, an enraged Dracula enters the fray cutting a bloody swathe through the attacking vampires before instructing Willow on how to reverse the spell Toru has activated using the portal and the scythe. With the gothic vampires now stripped of their special powers the tide of battle quickly turns, allowing Buffy and her army of Slayers to make short work of the undead forces. Meanwhile, Dracula takes down Toru and then provides Xander with the opportunity to exact his revenge, by allowing him to deliver the killing blow. With the fight finally over, Buffy, Willow and Xander each find their own way of dealing with the aftermath…
